            BY  RECENT HURRICANES .

Tuesday, August 29, 2017. LOCAL 100 in New York is in the process of approving  a $5,000 donation to the IATSE Walsh Di Tolla Spivak Foundation

(See details  below).  When Hurricane Sandy hit here in NY, NJ and CT LOCAL 100 made a $5,000 donation to this  fund and  many of our affected members applied for assistance and received substantial funds based  on their needs. Our Executive Board unanimously  voted to recommend a $5000 donation and our Members will vote to approve on October 3. LOCAL 100 strongly  encourages brother and sister IATSE Locals to give whatever they can to  this Foundation. For those of you  in Right to Work States this Foundation is an example of how IATSE  membership can be beneficial. make sure all members  of Local 796 know about this Foundation and how to  apply for assistance. Money from the  Foundation helps pay for food, clothing, shelter and other necessities to help  members through this difficult  time. Individual members  needing assistance should submit a written request to their local union. The local  union will then forward  the request to the  Foundation  for review by  the Foundation trustees.
